What an honour to perform in such a beautiful theatre.
Sunday the 13th March was the date for Josie's Dragonfly Trust Variety Show.
On the bill apart from myself were acts such as:
Jason Isaacs, John Miles, Faye Tozer, The Dream Girls, and of course Joe McElderry. Also in the show were several other local acts and a guest appearance from some TV personalities who dressed up as Abba for few numbers.
It is difficult to describe the feeling of performing in such a magnificent theatre, walking out onto the stage where some of the great entertainers in history have tread the boards. It was certainly humbling, not least because it was all in aid of such a good cause.
My act consisted of some card manipulation...

and the vanishing egg trick with Jessie, a very cute little girl who happened to be the daughter of the photographers. She was an absolute star and when asked what balloon model she wanted said "a dragonfly" which was so appropriate. I'm not saying I could make a dragonfly...but the audience loved her response.
All in all it is up there with my best performing experiences and I, along with most of the other performers have already said that we would do it again next year.
